ANNOUNCEMENTS

I am sorry to announce that I have made a decision to officially close Cypsis' Blog.

All the reviews stay up as they are, but I will not write more reviews. Cypsis' Blog had many ups-and-downs during those 7 years and I have tried to give the best I could, but unfortunately my life has moved on so much that finding time for reviewing has become more and more difficult. Closing the blog is breaking my heart, but I have thought a lot about it and understood that it is for the best. I am very thankful to everybody who have enjoyed reading my reviews.
(PS. I am still continuing to watch Asian dramas and you can always find me on Mydramalist.com)

Thank you for all these 7 years. I hope that those 240 reviews made you happy. I truly had unforgettable time writing them!

Sincerely, Cypsis

Shin jidan Koshonin ura file (2011)

Country: Japan
Format: tv-movie, related to "Jidan Kosho Jinnai Tamako Ura File" Sp-s
Genre: law, slice of life
Cast: Takahata Atsuko, Kato Shigeaki, Matoba Koji, Kobayashi Chiharu, Yajima Kenichi, Orimoto Junkinchi, Hashizume Ryo, Suzuki Maika, Fujiyoshi Kumiko, Nashimoto Kenjiro, Kanayama Kazuhiko, Ueshima Ryuhei, Kobayashi Nenji, Watabiki Katsuhiko,
Synopsis: Hashima Ippei works at insurance office. He is transferred to an elite department that handles difficult investigations in order to find out if and how much money they must pay out. Though it is said to have been put together of elite workers from other departments, his new colleagues turn out to be more than just unique people.
Rating: 2/5
To start off, just who are insurance people to do the job of detectives or criminologists? If anyone can tell me a good reason I might reconsider the amount of stars, but I guess 2 stars are even more than enough for it. If you are not a fan of any actor/actress who is playing in here, then I think it is pretty much worthless to watch. Sorry if I am being to mean.

The one and only reason it was worth watching was of course Kato Shigeaki (still biased). I felt like
Hashima was crushed between two sides - on one hand he was honest and wanted to find out truth with Oka Mineko, but on the other side, he was influenced by Yomoda Hiroki, with whom he used to work at former department. Also it seems that he does the most difficult things - like writing final files of investigation files etc. A funny fact is that Kato Shigeaki's previous role was "Troubleman" were at first he was also an insurance worker, but got fired because he payed out too much money. If we change the order of roles then we almost can make them into a spin-off.
Oka Mineko's character was one of a kind. I liked that she did not give up on finding out the truth. No matter how, it did not look like suicide. She was rather sweet, considering the fact that she was already in proper age where many single woman turn into cynical bitter old-women. She was saved by the fact that she was once married - her ex-husband is shown for a minute. Unfortunately, they do not give the exact reasons why they divorced and their story is almost left half. They told that the reason was that she was too busy, but at the same time it was said that she was just an extra-worker at first who was invited when they did not have enough people at work.
Other workers at the new department are Yomoda Hiroki, who can be described as the reason why many countries are fighting for gender-equality. I am not going to give my opinions on this subject, but he was really an annoying bastard. Futamura Jun, a former police officer who is rather naive mamas-girl, because she talks a lot about her mom. The last person there is Iwaki-san who pretty much never does anything - he either eats or reads, but that does not mean that he is useless character.
The whole story actually revolves around one family whose grandad died after getting hit by a car.
The family is hiding more than one thing and that makes the investigation difficult. Each family member has their own worries and they do not take much notice about grandpa. I really wonder what makes people grow so far from their parents. It just makes me sad.
In the end, I would still like to question if insurance people are the right ones to investigate if something was a suicide or an accident? As much as I know, people other than detectives, police etc are not allowed to touch possible evidences under any circumstances. It more looks like police were doing really bad on this case, if they were not able to discover the truth within one month while insurance workers did it with less than a week. It just does not make any sense and screenwriter should do her work more properly.
